Well girls, I never though I’d find myself at one of these. It was a spur of the moment decision while catching the last part of the Houston Art Crawl. Only the tattoo parlors and bars were open with beautiful unique pieces adorning the walls. Much to my surprise, I heard there would be a Burlesque show coming right up at Eastdown Warehouse. I stayed because of curiosity and because people have claimed burlesque “definitely is not stripping.” And besides, most people there were heterosexual couples so it couldn’t have been that inappropriate.
The M.C. told dirty but hilarious jokes intermittently that most women could not have pulled off. The costumes and dancers were fabulous, each offering their own unique way of portraying “sexy.” I couldn’t help but be a little jealous of their splits on stage and fabulous makeup jobs. It was a great way to observe some new seductive techniques that will prove helpful in so many ways.
So the next time the Whiskey Rocketts are in town, you don’t want to miss it. It may just pleasantly arouse you.
